🏔️THE DISAPPEARANCE OF TOM YOUNG
“Up high, weather doesn’t give warnings… it just arrives.”
📍 LOCATION
Rocky Mountain National Park, Colorado
🧾 THE STORY
In July 2002, an experienced hiker named Tom Young set out alone into Rocky Mountain National Park. He was familiar with the terrain. Prepared. Comfortable moving through high alpine environments. At some point during his hike, he was seen near a trail junction—moving steadily, with no signs of distress. Then… nothing. When he failed to return, search teams were deployed quickly. The area was combed. Trails, ridgelines, and drainages were checked. But no clear track was found. No gear. No confirmed direction of travel. Just a last known location… and miles of rugged terrain in every direction.

🧙♂️ FIELD NOTE
High elevation terrain has a way of hiding things in plain sight. One ridge looks like the next. One drainage leads to another. If something goes wrong up there… it doesn’t take much to disappear.
